Sir Robert Anderson (1841-1918) was converted to Christ at the age of nineteen and almost immediately began to preach in his native Dublin where he trained for a legal profession at Trinity College. He became a respected member of the Irish Home Office and an expert on criminal investigation. In 1888, he was summoned to Scotland Yard, London, to serve as Chief of the Criminal Investigation Department, an office he filled with distinction until retirement in 1896. At his retirement, he was knighted by Queen Victoria; and in 1901, King Edward VII made him Knight Commander. In the midst of all his many duties, he managed to gain a profound knowledge of the Bible, preach in various conferences, and write seventeen books.

Sir Robert does it again! Salvation is talked about and preached in evangelical churches, but in most cases it is simplified to appeal to those who hear. The simple Gospel message that Jesus died for our sins is of course true and many souls have been saved upon hearing the simple message. However, to really understand all that our Lord Jesus Christ has done for us at the cross requires considerably more study. The title is perhaps misleading, redemption is part of the answer, but Sir Robert also looks at many other aspects including reconciliation, and propitiation all part of the miraculous work Christ accomplished for our justification before a Holy, God. This book is not for everyone, many chapters are difficult to be understood at first glance but if the reader will expend a little time and patience the result in a greater understanding of the Word is well worth the effort. I have found from experience the more we know of Jesus' work on the cross, the more wonderful it becomes, and the closer we draw to Him whose Blood was Shed for us!I strongly recommend this work. Read it, then read it again, and again and again!

Simple truth about salvation, laid out in an easy to understand message for all to read.
This is a great exposition on Daniel. Perhaps the best that will ever be.
Amazing how it was written in the 1800's and so much has changed.
Yet God's word remains.
This author's writings far exceed my expectations. All of his books are well-written and well-thought out. It is not as easy read - but it is a valuable read.
